Default September will bring exhibits, art workshops and receptions

Salisbury Fine Art presents “Country,” new plein-air oil paintings by Anita Hampton and Nancy Becker through Sept. 30. The gallery is also featuring works by Susan Venable, Jon Nu, Joseph Maruska, Aleah Koury and Will Robinson. Located in the historic Old Santa Fe Schoolhouse in Avila Valley, 6985 Ontario Road between the two Avila exits. Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Cayucos

Cayucos Art Association is offering a free watercolor landscape demonstration at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4. Instructor Kolan Peterson will demonstrate “Step by Step” approach. Peterson was a guest artist in Yosemite teaching “Watercolor in the Park” for several summers. The demonstration will be held at the Cayucos Veterans Hall, next to the pier. 995-2049.

Morro Bay

Rosi Lusardi’s mixed-media paintings and fused glass sculpture show, “In a Different Light,” will be on exhibit in September at the Gallery at Marina Square, on the Embarcadero. A reception for the Atascadero-based artist will be held Friday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 8 pm.

Paso Robles

Quilted artwork by Janice Strakbein will be on display at the Paso Robles

Pismo Beach

The Seaside Gallery is sponsoring a two-day Artist Reception Extravaganza for romantic artist Robert Copple Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2 from noon to 5 p.m. Alapay Wine Cellars will offer complimentary wine tasting. Free parking. Seaside 580 Cypress St., 773-8057.

San Luis Obispo

For September, Law’s Upstairs Gallery will feature Susan Pyburn’s

photography in a show titled “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.” A reception will be held Friday, Sept. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with Art After Dark. 863 Marsh St. 544-5518.

Photographer Linda Brownson is showing two collections at Spaces Gallery at 547 Marsh St. “No End of Color” continues through August.

A new collection of her work, “Special Moments/

New Discoveries” (captured during recent visits to Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy) begins Sept. 1 and continues through Sept. 30.

April Coviello is the featured artist at West End Espresso and Tea, 670-A Higuera St. for the months of September and October.
