Default Scale down stains

When you stand before the mirror, check your teeth. See it is clean or not, discoloured etc. Analysis whether your teeth require any type of cleaning. If you feel any irritation in your teeth go and approach a dental hygienist for help.

The dental hygienist will assist and give instruction to their client or patient as well as try to educate them to follow preventive measures at home. Their direct service includes procedures in preventing the initiation of periodontal infection and tooth decay. If not it will lead to periodontal (gum) diseases which result in the loss of tooth and root decay.

Scaling is the process used for the removal of dental plaque (a sticky colourless layer of harmful bacteria found near the gumline and teeth) and dental calculus (hardened or calcified plaque) from the surface of tooth or from the surface of a tooth apical to the gingival margin as a result forms periodontal pockets (deep space between the teeth and the gum) due to the accumulation or from the surface coronal to the margin gingival.

Scaling is often considered as deep cleaning or conventional periodontal therapy and is performed with the help of a variety of dental tools which include ultrasonic instruments, and hand instrument such as periodontal scalers and currettes. Therefore it makes the procedure easier.

The action of accumulation is slow, but if it is not diagnosed and evaluated it will affect the gums, bone and teeth. It is not a preventive process. This can be conducted every six months because the presence of plaque and tartar will reappear on the teeth and also at the gumline.

Finally a patient should take special care of his teeth and follow the instruction of his dental hygienist
