Croatia's tourism industry has received a boost
Croatia is a "very, very popular" tourist destination at the moment, one industry figure believes.
A spokesperson for the Croatian National Tourist Office said: "Croatia's very popular; we [had] 275,000 British holidaymakers in Croatia last year."
He added that tourists were visiting areas up and down the country from Rijeka in the north to Dubrovnik in the south.
The islands of Korcula, Krk, Cres and Losinj are also well visited, he said.
He believes that Croatia's tourism industry has received a boost from the number of airlines offering flights to the country.
People can now fly to Croatia from Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin, Bristol and the London airports, he explained.
According to the Croatian tourist board, almost 11 million people went on holiday to the country between January and November 2007.
This was an increase of eight per cent for the same period in 2006, it said.
